HOSTING GUIDE
Bloody mary bar ideas, Texas style
A bloody mary bar is the easiest brunch setup there is: one good mix, one bottle of vodka and a table of garnishes people can go wild on. Here's how much to buy, what to put on the board, and the order to set it all out.

How much mix per guest
Plan on two drinks a head and 4 oz of mix per drink — a 32 oz bottle of Red Eye pours about eight cocktails.
| Party size | Drinks | Red Eye mix | Spirit |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6 guests | ~12 drinks | 2 bottles (64 oz) | 1 fifth of vodka |
| 12 guests | ~24 drinks | 3 bottles (96 oz) | 2 fifths of vodka |
| 24 guests | ~48 drinks | 1 case (12 bottles) | 4 fifths of vodka |

Setting it up
Step 1
Chill everything the night before
Cold mix, cold glasses, plenty of ice. A bloody mary bar lives or dies on temperature, not on how many garnishes you put out.
Step 2
Lay the table out in pouring order
Glasses and ice, rim salt, mix, spirits, then the garnish board at the far end. Guests move in one direction and the line never jams.
Step 3
Pre-batch the base
24 oz Red Eye to 9 oz vodka fills about six glasses over ice. Stir gently — shaking flattens the body of the mix.
Step 4
Give every garnish its own tongs
One set of tongs per tray keeps the pickle brine out of the cheddar and keeps the whole board looking sharp an hour in.
Step 5
Post the ratio on a card
Write “4 oz Red Eye · 1.5 oz vodka · ice · garnish” on a card and prop it at the front. Nobody has to ask you how to build one.
Give the bar a second station
Put a beer and a bottle of blanco tequila next to the mix and the same table covers three drinks instead of one.
